Deciding to build a custom home is a milestone moment. Next come other milestones, such as expressing your vision, approving the design and watching your new home come to life. Crafting a one-of-a-kind home to the highest possible standards is not easy. But it can be simplified. Rest assured we’ll be there, every step of the way.
MEETING & STRATEGY
During this get-to-know-you phase, we’ll discuss your vision, your personal style and any special needs or accommodations. We’ll talk timing, budget and whether or not you already own land. If not, we’ll start working with you to procure the perfect homesite.
DESIGN
Inspired by our early meetings, we’ll design your home—either a modification of one of our existing plans or a completely custom layout from the ground up. We’ll also craft an allowance package and an “Included Features” outline so you know exactly what to expect.
FINANCING
Competitive construction loan financing is available. We’ll connect you with our trusted lenders who will walk you through all available financing options.
CONGRATS & CLOSING
It’s official. We’ve finalized the details, closed the deal and are ready to build.
SELECTIONS
About two weeks after closing, you’ll select your exterior finishes. Within 90 days, you’ll make interior selections. If you’re purchasing a home that’s already in progress, your timeline may be a little different.
ROAD MAP MEETING
Just before breaking ground, we‘ll sit with you to review the final plans, answer any lingering questions and do one last sign-off. This meeting lays the foundation for success because it minimizes surprises, loose ends and misinterpretations during the build.
BREAKING GROUND
Plans are a go. Permits are in hand. Hear that? There’s nothing quite like the sound of big shovels in the ground.
TOUCH-BASES
Occasionally, especially in the city, modifications must be made to the home or homesite after construction has begun, due to grading, or other unforeseen factors. If this is the case, we’ll keep you informed via phone or on-site meetings.
WALK-THROUGHS
As we reach key milestones, we’ll schedule walk-through appointments. These include electrical/home automation installation (last chance to make additions or changes) and confirmation of all plumbing/mechanical placement, and any final touches such as bath fixture placement or miscellaneous items. Wear closed-toe shoes!
HOME 101 DEMONSTRATION
As you approach move-in, it’s time to bond with your new home. Come in, look around, open drawers, flip switches and start feeling at home with your features, systems and maintenance options. Think dress rehearsal for ownership.
HANDOFF
You take it from here. It’s all yours. Handshakes and hugs all around. Welcome home!
